💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does my custom order take longer than fast fashion?

A: Because every piece is handmade, we take time to source, cut, sew, and finish it with care. This ensures quality, fit, and uniqueness.

Q: Can I get something I saw on Pinterest or another designer?

A: We’re inspired by many styles but do not copy other designers. Instead, we’ll work with you to create something unique that reflects your taste and fits beautifully.

Q: Do you offer returns or refunds?

A: Due to the custom nature of our work, all sales are final. We are happy to offer adjustments if needed within reason (see full policy).

Q: Can you make this faster?

A: Rush orders may be available for an additional fee, depending on availability. Please inquire!

Q:  How to prevent zipper breakage for invisible zippers?

A: Invisible zippers are strong, and they don't require a hook and eye for closure, as it is automatically built in. When the slider is in its normal position, pointing down, the zipper will not slide open.

As invisible zippers made of well-aligned teeth, treating the zipper on a well-fitted dress is vital every time it is tried on.

  • Ensure the bust is well-tucked in the correct area of the boning and not under the curve of the bust, as this will not be the correct size for the under-bust measurements.
  •   It is essential not to try to zip up the dress by yourself. Firstly, make sure the dress is sitting in the right place on your body. Secondly, place your hands on your waist while pushing the dress to the back to allow for less pressure on the zipper. Someone else should then help you zip the dress, sliding it up gently.
  • If you are not comfortable doing that, you can request one more person to help, one to hold the dress together, and the other to zip up gently. It is essential that when you are holding the dress together, you are not applying any unnecessary force, as that will create a discrepancy in the zipper, which eventually will cause the separation of the zipper closure while still attached at the top.
  • Never bend down to tie up your shoes or move around while the zipper is halfway. Again, that will create weakness in the teeth lining up in a systematic order, which will cause a discrepancy and affect it.
  • Every dress order should be tried on and tested before leaving the premises, so you get the complete fit and comfort of the gown.

Disclaimer: Herz Design is not responsible for damages to dresses after they leave the premises, as they may result from mistreatment or failure to follow instructions regarding cleaning or handling the gown. You are always welcome to give us a call or visit us in-store if you have any concerns or are unsure how to handle your dress.

Q: Corset measurements and how to take them?

A:

  • Use a soft tailor’s measuring tape.

  • Measure over-fitted undergarments or shapewear that the client will wear with the dress.

  • Keep the tape snug; don't add any fingers under the tape.

  • The person should stand straight.

  • Have someone else take the measurements for better accuracy.
